This past Sunday the Northern York Polar Bears beat their opponents in the semi-final playoff games to advance to the CFA Super Bowl. The Peewees defeated the New Cumberland Saints 25-7 and the Polar Bear Ponies battled a tough Juniata team to win 24-16.
Both teams advanced to the CFA Super Bowl on Saturday, November 7 at Central Dauphin’s Landis Field. Congratulations to both the Peewees and Ponies for a great season.

View From the Trenches
Fall is here and along with it comes the college football season. For the past few years I’ve been fortunate enough to freelance for a great group of people who run a web site completely devoted to Division III sports. D3 Football is just one of several web sites being maintained by D3 Sports.
This past Saturday I drove to Gettysburg College for the Gettysburg Bullets game against the Muhlenberg Mules. After getting the typical shots of running backs, quarterbacks, and receivers, I decided to try and showcase some of the battles being won and lost down in the trenches between the offensive and defensive linemen, the unsung heroes. It was raining that day but unfortunately Gettysburg has an artificial turf field as do most schools these days. I say “unfortunately” because a bit of mud and grass would have really made these pictures classic.
